Big Dog Company is a food specialty store located in the heart of Kralingen. We specialize in natural food for dogs and cats and pay a lot of care and attention to providing appropriate personal nutritional advice.
Big Dog Company consists of a store and an online shop.
Sales to customers and nutritional advice take place in the store, during opening hours, by telephone and by email. In addition to customers walking into the store, orders are also received via the webshop. The online orders are prepared by the “Webshop Team”.
The 24/7 collection service is unique at Big Dog: The customer orders, we prepare it and send the customer a code with which they can collect the order 24/7.
Customers can also choose ''delivery'' or ''send by Postnl''.
We are looking for an enthusiastic webshop employee for our team. As a webshop employee you are responsible for the order & handling process in the webshop from A to Z. This includes, among other things:
- Print orders
- Careful Order Picking & Handling
- Communication with customer both via email/app but also by telephone/in person
- Deliver packages to Postnl in a timely manner
- Ensure that the incoming goods are processed in the administration and are replenished/cleaned up in the right place.
- Communication with suppliers
- Delivering orders with the (electric) cargo bike. (within certain zip code area)
Who are we looking for?
- Someone who really wants to work in the animal industry
- An independent worker with an eye for detail
- Someone who would like to work 1-2 days a week including Saturdays (school holidays incl.)
- Has no problems with physically demanding work
- Proficient in Dutch and English (speaking and writing)
- Has no problems speaking to customers by telephone
- Pre: Experience in a store/webshop
- General computer skills

What does your day look like at Big Dog?
You come in before 10:00 in the morning, first make a nice cup of coffee or tea, then see how many webshop orders have been received. Just check the email and create a new code for 24/7 collection.
We drink a cup of coffee together, discuss what can be done that day and then we start collecting orders for the customers. You sort the orders based on order date/time and urgency. We carefully collect the ordered items, prepare them, and inform the customer by email that the order is ready. When ordering, the customer chooses how they want to receive their goods. (Consider the different options: 24/7, Delivery, Send with PostNL.)
Sometimes the ordered items are not in stock, we will inform the customer by telephone/email/whatsapp and you will look for a suitable solution together with the customer.
When your stomach starts bubbling, we will have lunch together.
In between, goods are also delivered by our suppliers, these must be unpacked, cleaned up and the stock in our computer system must be updated. We also repack large quantities of snacks/kibble into smaller, more manageable quantities for the customer. This is done by everyone, during the day if necessary.
Oops, it's already 3:00 PM! We ensure that the PostNL packages are delivered to PostNL no later than 4:00 PM so that they arrive as quickly as possible to the lucky buyer!
When we return we will check whether any new orders have been received.
At Big Dog Company we promise: “All orders placed before 2:00 PM will be ready the same day!”
But usually there are no more orders when we leave in the evening. At the end of the day we clean up together, complete the work, give the dogs a pat on the head and go home around 6:00 PM!
